Mini Breakthrough!

Today was our library day, and it is probably our 3rd or 4th time going, and I saw an improvement in Ian today. He is always good and attentive to the story time, but today he actually played on his own, and left my side for a little bit. Although not far, he was still playing and interacting. Izze always seems to have a great time. It is just so fun to see her do the movements to the songs and even try and sing them. She was even in a hurry to finish playing at the beginning of class so we could get on to story time. She kept saying, "I want to do the story now". She kept listen for the clean up song to start. She would say, "is she doing the clean up song". I wouldn't want to miss even these small moments. They are only this small once and there is just so much I don't want to miss out on. So glad I am able to do these things with them. (I think I say this every time, but it is so true in my heart). The teacher even grabbed her hand during one of the songs when it says to walk, so they walked around the circle together. It was fun for me to watch her. She seemed so proud. After class she was asking the teacher her last name. She is something.

Picnic Outside!

After returning home from Hafer Park, we decided since we were already hot from the park we would have a picnic outside. We used an old blanket, which will now become our outside blanket, and had some lunch. Both kids thought this was a great idea. Izze has been having pretend parties outside lately with all her toys and her brother. She is so funny to listen to and watch. We saw little flowers (weeds), butterflies, and ants while having lunch. yummy. It was a great day that I got to spend with my kids. My gifts.

Mom's Group - Park Day!

Today was our mom's group, and we went to Hafer Park. Izze and Ian both really like going to whatever park we get to go too. Today, we got to see a little more of Hafer Park. After playing on one play area, we walked to see the ducks. Izze wanted to touch the water with her hand, but I tried to make her understand that the water was too far down and the water was yucky. It kinda worked. Ian was really excited to see the ducks and wanted down so he could go after them. I had to keep him close. It is so different having a little boy. He is all boy. Izze was, and still is cautious about things, and Ian just seems like he would try anything. We headed to another play area which was perfect for Ian. There was a little slide, and once he found out he could climb and slide by himself, he did it over and over. It was fun seeing him climb and slide by himself, he was so proud. He is so full of energy and loud. I remember people saying that boys were louder and it proves to be true right now with our little guy. He is also rougher than Izze (in ways, Izze has given him a bump or two). He tries to play, and he thinks he is funny, but it usually ends up hurting Izze. He will grab her face or arm and make this funny face, and you can see it on his face he wants to play, but Izze doesn't think it is playing. We will have to work on this too. We all had a lot of fun today.

BIG Haircut Day!!!!!!

Today was the big day. Izze had her first major haircut. She has had it trimmed before and bangs cut, but this was major, for her and me. She got a little bob haircut. She looks so cute, like a "little, big girl". She did so well sitting real still for the lady and looking down or sideways when the lady asked her too. She looks super hip. In a girl way! (LOL). She thinks it is pretty cute herself. Good job princess.

Dentist Day

Well, today was the long awaited, avoided, deadline day for the dentist visit. This was my first time to have work done, so I was trying to hold off as long as possible. I had four cavities on one side (2 top, 2 bottom), and then I have four more on the other side, (2 top, 2 bottom again), to have done at a later date. I knew I needed to get the appointment set or I probably would just keep avoiding it. I had one cavity so big he was hoping we wouldn't have to do a root canal. He thinks we have avoided that situation for now. Please Lord! I have to say he is good at what he does. Needles and all, I really didn't feel much. He said he was numbing me good. I told him that was great, I didn't want to feel anything. So, for a first time, it was a good experience. I don't totally dread going back to do the next four, "I can handle it" (LoL). I will probably hold off for a while though. (Ha, Ha)

Library Day!!

Today was Lapsit day at the Library. This is a new thing for us and so far Izze really seems to enjoy it. It is very interesting to me to watch her listen to the teacher and do what the teacher does. We have play time at first, then we sing the clean up song, and on to story time. The lady does some singing with the five little ducks song, and other stuff. Ian seems to be interested in what the teacher is doing too, he is quite and attentive and watches her. He still doesn't go far from my side though. It will probably take a few more times to warm him up. Today we officially got a library card, and Izze checked out two Fancy Nancy books. She loves these books. Then we had lunch with a friend, that also went to lapsit. I enjoy watching the kids interact (or at least Izze), and I enjoy the class too. I'm so glad I have the opportunity to do these things with them. Great Tuesday everyone!

Dynamo!!!!!

Our mom's group met at Dynamo Gym today, and Izze just loves this place,(along with any other jump play place). Whenever I tell her we are going to mom's group today, she usually ask if it is the jump place. They have a little ball pit, slides, all kinds of things to crawl in and climb. Ian and I even crawled and climbed our way through some of them. Which this my friends chose to be a challenge for me. I was so tired just after a couple of rounds up and through the maze. I'm not sure they were build for mom's and dad's to crawl around in, but we do it for our kids. When they say mommy come slide with me or watch me, you have to make it up the climb zone, right. At least the first time or two. We had a great time, and a great group of kids and mom's come out today. Hope to see you guys next week.

Weekend Update!

What a great weekend! Thursday night Brian and I were able to get away on a date. I really enjoy this time together. I love just the one on one time I get to spend with my best friend, my husband. No distractions, just us face to face (with the many others at the Cheesecake Factory). That's right we went to one of our favorites ( a list of many, I know). It was sooo good. We split our favorite dish there, which is the Chicken Madeira. Then we had the 30th anniversary cheesecake, yummy. So good. Now that the kids are older and more settled into their routines, I feel better about leaving them. It makes it a little easier. After dinner we headed to the south side and did a little looking/shopping at Marshall's. Oh, how I wish we had one that was closer. Tried on lots of stuff, but nothing seemed to work that night. So it was off to the kids department. I love shopping for them just as much as for myself, if not more. I did have success on that end. They do have cute kids clothes sometimes. Thanks babe for a great night out!

Friday, we went to a 30th surprise birthday party for a friend of mine. We had a good time. I think she was surprised. Hope you had a great Birthday Janet!

Saturday, I think was the last day of the parade of homes in the city, so we headed out to look at some new homes that were all decorated nice inside. Izze really enjoyed this. She wanted to know if we could go into every home. She didn't really get it. We seen some pretty homes, and decided we should change our paint colors some. We had been planning to do it for a while, but now I think we are really ready. It's just finding those right colors, and having them look the same on the walls. You know?

Sunday, The kids and I were there in all four experiences. Pastor Herbert preached a great message that everyone should hear, and then hear again.

To sum it all up it was a great weekend!

Staff Get Together!

We had such a great time with all the staff last week. We got together for a cook out and let the kids play while us adults try and sneak in some time talking together. The kids had a blast. I love to see them play and interact with each other. Izze was having fun playing duck duck goose, and she was proving to be a good batter with the ball and bat. Ian was checking out someones cup of water, and then enjoying some play time with the car, and other toys. It was great to spend some time with everyone and their families.

Random Fair Pictures!

Ian wanting me to get him out so he can join in on the fun too.

Izze checking out this whole tractor ride thing.

Ian, he isn't so sure about something.

They are so cute and so much fun!

State Fair!!!

Ian getting to pet the baby chick.

Thursday was the opening night of the state fair, so we meet a few friends at the fair and had a great time. We of course had to sample the food, which this included: pizza for Izze, turkey leg for Brain, Indian taco for me and then on to dessert. I have to say the cinnamon roll was definitely worth it. Yummy!

If you can't see this is Brian in the Toyota Land Cruiser. They had a great thing set up at the fair to drive the dirt course. He loved it. I wish I could have gotten a better picture.

The kids got to see all the animals. They both seemed to enjoy the horses, cows, lambs, chickens, pigs, the baby chicks were cute, rabbits even spiders and butterflies.

Of course you can't go to the fair without seeing the car display. We walked around and looked at all the new cars, which the kids enjoyed testing them out for us, by getting in the seats and all around. Izze even wanted to be buckled in a few times.

We even caught a dog show. I think the kids enjoyed it. The dogs would jump up and catch Frisbee s, do flips, it was interesting.

We ended the evening with the water fountain that Izze had to stick her hands in, and got wet, I even joined her for a trip to the fountain. It was fun, we always enjoy going to the fair. Next year the kids will probably enjoy the rides more too.

Back Track To Labor Day!

We headed to Ponca for Labor Day, to visit with my brother and his family and my mom, and her family. We always enjoy seeing them and spending time with them. Izze loves Tom's girls, and Joslyn (my sister's little girl). She likes all the fun toys they have and they always take time to play with her, and swim if the weather permits. The water was a little cooler this time around, but Izze didn't seem to care, she just knew she wanted to go swimming. After the swimming she headed to the big trampoline, Ian seemed to enjoy this one too. Ian and my brother hit it off pretty well this time. Ian went right to him and didn't want anyone else to hold him for a long time. He must have remembered the good time they had last time. They had a good game of horse shoes going on too, next time I will have to join in on that one. We had lots of yummy stuff to eat. It was a great time with family.

Week In Review!

Here at our house it has been a rainy week so far, with more to come, they say. We have also had one car this week, so it has made for a creative week around here. We have done lots of playing in the rain. The kids rode their bikes (well, Izze's tri-cycle, and Ian's motor ride) in the rain. They seem to enjoy this the best. We even had an outside lunch one day when the weather was cooler out. The kids have been covered in outside/wet chalk, with rain all over, but that's what being a kid is about, right? Izze has drove her tri-cycle around and around the table outside on the porch, for days now it seems. Ian even has a bummed lip and nose because of sister tackling him outside. Oh the fun!

Such Great Ladies!

I enjoy our mom's group as much as Izze and Ian do playing with all their little friends. I am surrounded by incredible women, who are great mothers. Every time I am around these women I am uplifted, encouraged, motivated, and strengthened. They make me laugh, and I know they laugh at me when I get lost driving time and time again. These women are kindhearted, thoughtful, giving, and they serve each other. I am thankful that the Lord has these women in my life. We had missed the mom's group a couple of weeks in a row, and I really do miss hanging out with these ladies when we miss. So, to you ladies, thank you for being such a great, (and needed), part of my life. What would life be without you?? (Still have some blogs to catch up on, but I had to post about my friends today.)

Great Thursday!!

Great Thursday to you! Well, I am a little behind this week. I got a stomach bug or something on Tuesday and it hit me hard. I was down for the count for a couple of days. Today, I feel pretty good, still a little tired feeling. I have to say this weather is great though. The kids and I got out today, since we have been inside a lot lately, and couldn't have been more beautiful. The breeze is just like fall weather and makes me anticipate what's to come. I do love the fall time, just like spring when it breaks through from the winter cold. The stores already have their fall decorations out, and it makes me want to snatch some up, but I don't know what I would do with them at the moment. To the fresh air of fall to come, can't wait. It's like starting new again.

Izze dressed herself today in her little sweater dress and sandals. I thought she looked pretty good so we went with it. She is starting to want to pick out her clothes now, which most of the time I have to "pre-approve", but she does a pretty good job. She looked very cute.
Ian, well mommy still picks out his clothes, and if I do say so myself, he looks so handsome today. His little pants and shirt, simple, but he sure is cute with those golden locks and big hazel eyes like his daddy. Gotta love it! I think it is so fun having a boy and girl. So glad God blessed us with these two little people. I wish I had pictures, but we were out the door pretty fast and didn't have a chance to snap a shot of them. You can just take my word for it. Well, I will try and get caught up, I have pictures from Labor Day to post and the weekend stuff. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. Have a great "pre-fall" feeling Thursday!!!
