Strange Night...

Brian and I woke up to the sound of our house alarm sounding off at about 1AM this morning. I jumped up and turned on the bathroom light so we could see, while Brian ran into the living room. We got the alarm off, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. We made the rounds to every door and window (even checking the kids rooms), and nothing seemed out of place. The kids never even woke up. Not sure if that is scary or a good thing. Depends on the situation I guess. The call come from the alarm company, and they said the alarm was sounded from our back door being opened. We concluded it must have been a fluke because everything was still locked up tight. As we settled back into bed, trying to calm ourselves and get back to sleep the tornado sirens started to sound. We were up again with the T.V. on. I guess there was a tornado close to us but it was headed the other way. After we were sure we were in the clear, we decided to try and get some sleep. I'm not sure when I fell back to sleep. I was almost afraid to close my eyes again. I remember my previous blog with a question about what I hate, I would have to say the threat of severe storms/tornadoes. I love this season because everything is blooming and coming to life, but the weather is very scary sometimes. We just pray for protection.

Gorgeous!

Wow! What a gorgeous day today! Yesterday it was nice too, so the kids and I headed for the park area here in our addition. Isabelle loves to swing and slide and see the ducks in the pond. I wish I would have taken my camera, because the ducks come up really close to us. I think they wanted food, but we didn't have any. Then Izze spotted a little bunny rabbit. I think he has a home nearby, because we see him often. She kept chasing him, wanting to hold him. I tried to explain that he was probably scared of us. Ian really enjoyed seeing the ducks too. I have been reading him a book about animals lately, and it has a duck in it, so I think he knew what I was talking about when I said duck (and of course made the duck sound).

Today almost seems hot to me. The kids and I got out and about this morning before their naps, and I was wishing I had on lighter clothes. Izze and Ian enjoyed the outing. We had the windows down and I don't think I heard much from them the whole ride home.

We get to meet daddy later this afternoon at Saturn grill, one of our favorite places to go. They have yummy food.

Well, I think my little man is up now, so here is to a great Thursday and nice weather.

Great Moments!

This is Isabelle with my boots on. She usually brings out many of my shoes to try on, and play in. By the time we need to clean up we have shoes everywhere!

This is Isabelle in her dress up clothes. She loves to put everything on, usually she will have three layers of clothes on or more. She knows she looks so cute!

Yesterday, Izze and I were in our home office, and Izze said, "mommy I'm going to sing and play the piano". I said, like daddy, she said yes. When daddy is in the room practicing she likes to go in their with him and sit in his lap and sing with him. She knows some songs that we do for worship. She was really getting into it, so I had to capture it on camera. She was singing and playing with everything she had. Maybe someday she will want to learn to play. Just had to share some moments of our daily lives with you today!

2008-Easter Fun!!

What a day we had today! The kids and I got up early to go to the 8:30am service for Easter Sunday. We had five services today, so we thought we would go early to make room for others in the other services. I know we had a lot of people today, and many accepted the Lord. What a great day to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, and what that means in our lives.

The kids were dressed in their Easter outfits that Nanny and Papa Lin got them. All though we didn't get to see Nanny and Papa Lin this year, they still made sure their grand babies had some new stuff for Easter. Thank you Nanny and Papa for our Easter outfits, and stuffing our buckets full!

Paw, Paw Jack came over when Brian got home, to watch the kids hunt their Easter eggs. Izze was so excited, we had to hide them a couple of times for her. It was really too cold today, so that was about all we could do. Paw, Paw got us Easter dinner, thank you Paw, Paw. As you can see the kids had a lot of fun, and we enjoyed watching them. Ian was curious about the eggs and everything else. It was a great Easter Sunday!

Pre-Easter Fun!

Monday, our mom's group had our annual Easter egg hunt for the kids. Izze was old enough this year to really look for them, and she had a good little bucket full of eggs when the hunt was over. Ian got a couple little eggs too. It was harder for him, because I was holding him and trying to take pictures at the same time. Next year little man, and you will be old enough. Izze was so excited to open them up and see what was inside. We are still eating candy from them. Becky fixed us a great lunch and topped it off with cupcakes. Izze had green frosting everywhere. Izze loves to play at Carter's house, because he has lots of great toys. Ian seemed to be enjoying himself too this time. He is standing a lot and playing now. He seemed to be interested in Carter's train table. I got lots of great pictures (I remembered my camera this time)! Izze enjoyed being with all her little friends, and I enjoyed being with my great friends. It is always so much fun to be together. Happy Easter!

A Little Trip!

Pictures of the kids enjoying some outdoor time in their wagon nanny Faith got them for Christmas. Izze with "lips" in hand, she loves to have chap stick or some kind of gloss to carry around. Ian, toy in hand, both ready for a walk in the wagon. The weather was so nice for our trip.

This past week, we headed out for a couple days of fun. We went to Dallas to do some shopping and to enjoy some good food. We usually have to make a stop at La Madeline, Papasitos, North Park Mall, Grapevine Mills, Ikea and a few other places too. Izze always gets so excited for our trips. She likes trips because she can take naps in the car, sleep in the stroller, ride the carousel, see the fake crocodile at Rain Forrest Cafe (or at least she likes to talk about seeing it), and she really likes the hotel room. She enjoys riding the elevators, and she acts like she owns the room when we get inside. She immediately starts opening up all the drawers, and putting all her little gadgets inside. Then it is on to the doors and closets. We have to make sure and check all the drawers and every space for stuff before we leave. She even had her lamb and purse and some other stuff in the refrigerator. She just likes to put stuff into things. Then on to the phones in the room. She calls everyone who comes to mind, and talks about everything. Even somethings I don't understand. All this is pretend calling though. She is fascinated by everything. She loves to have her own big bed to sleep in too. Ian had a rough time going to sleep this time. After daddy holding him on his chest for a while he was fast asleep, and he slept the whole night when daddy put him in his crib. Thank you Lord! We headed back home after a fun time in Dallas to get some work done around the house. Daddy and Izze worked in the yard together, getting it ready for spring, while Ian and I ran some errands. We had a great time, can't wait to go again sometime.

Mall Play Time!

Today we had so much fun with our mom's group at the mall. Izze likes going to the mall, because she likes to play in the play area. After playing for a while, we all headed down to the food court for some lunch. Izze asked for popcorn chicken (one of her favorites now, since nanny brought them to us once). So, Ian and I decided we would do popcorn chicken too. I think Ian can eat just as much as Izze now. He seriously does eat a lot. After lunch Izze likes to stop and get either a ring or candy from the machines you put quarters in (whatever those things are called). This time she chose jellybeans. Then it was back home for afternoon naps. We had a great time with our friends.

Update-Izze's Face

One week later, and Isabelle's face is almost 100% better than last Thursday. The scabs are gone and now just the pinkish skin is showing. We are so glad it has healed so quickly. We just don't want any scars. We keep praying for them, and thanking God for healing them. You should hear her do this, it is really sweet.

Lunch Date!

Today, the kids and I had lunch with some friends. We love to go out for lunch or dinner. We have such good friends that we love and think so much of. Izze loves to be with the kids too. She will talk about them all the way there and then talk about them all the way home. I know in her little heart she really does care for them. McAllisters, was the choice of the day, which is a favorite of ours. Izze likes to get the pizza and I like the soup and sandwich. Their chicken tortilla soup is really good. Thanks ladies for a great lunch date, and Izze thanks you too. We will have to do it again sometime soon.

Big Crash

For all the parents out there, I don't think there is a worse feeling than when your child gets hurt on your watch. Well, Izze had her first major crash. For those of you that have seen her you know just by looking. She went straight down our sloped driveway on her car (not being able to stop), and landed on her face. She has scrapes, but today they look a 100% better than they did. The accident happened last Thursday. After looking her over, and asking her several questions, we concluded that she would be fine, but her face would show the evidence of an accident all too well. It is healing quickly and seems to not be leaving any scars. It's one of those things you hope never happens again to any of your kids. Heal quickly scrapes and don't leave any scars.

Fun Stop!

Yesterday, the kids and I had a great time at our mom's group. This was Isabelle's first time to Fun Stop. It is an indoor play area for kids. The adults get to sit around tables and hangout. Izze and Ian both had so much fun. Izze still isn't sure about going way up high in the play center, but someday she will venture that way. She would yell to Carter, "Carter where are you". Carter was way up high in the play gym and she couldn't see him. It was funny just hearing her say it. She got to run and play with the balls, and all her little friends. Ian got to explore the baby area. It has smaller things to climb on just for his age. He mostly slobbered and chewed on the stuff. It was just fun to get out on such a cold/windy day. I wish I would have remember my camera, but no. I seem to have a reoccurring problem with the camera. I always mean to take it, and it slips my mind. We had a great time with everyone.
