Snow Day

Isabelle trying to get the snow up for a snowman!

Ian not sure about the snow yet, he was too young last year.

Ian and Izze all bundled up. Such cuties!

Isabelle running in the snow.

Ian testing the snow. I think he took a bite too. LOL

Some of our valentine creations!

Isabelle making the shot! Go girl

Ian making the shot. About a month ago he was too short, so he is growing!

Isabelle and Ian having a picnic by the door. Izze's idea.

Wednesday, and we are a little stir crazy around here. We haven't been out yet. Isabelle was begging to go play in the snow, so we got wrapped in our layers and took for the back yard. Izze wanted to build a snowman, but it was more like ice than snow, so no snowman. It was refreshing just to get some fresh air, and to run off some energy. Ian even sampled the snow some, yummy. We have been playing basketball inside, having picnics, and getting a jump start on valentine creations. Many other things have filled our days, but too many to name. Tomorrow, for sure we will get out!!! To warmer days ahead, and more fun with my kiddos.

Staying In....

Today is another inside day for sure. We are below freezing, and have ice on the roads. Burrr....... Izze seems to be feeling better. She is up playing and eating some, and her fever has been around 99 to 100, so definitely lower than it has been. She seems like she is getting over it faster than Ian did, yeah. Ian seems to back to himself, and sleeping better. Last night, we almost got back to our normal schedule. Izze did get up about 5:30 to potty and she wanted something to drink, which I was eager to get her because she hadn't been drinking that much. She went back to bed for a little bit longer. Staying warm today inside, tomorrow looks to be the same way, but after that it is suppose to warm up!! Have a great Monday everyone!

Silly Us!

I thought I would blog about something because afterward I thought it was funny, and had a good laugh, and wondered if others feel the same way. Last night, Brian and I were watching, off and on, that old movie "Father of the Bride." I remember watching it when I was in Junior high, or high school. Brian was actually on the computer, so I didn't think he was watching it really, and I was busy getting Ian ready for bed, and some other things, but was aware of what was going on in the movie, having seen it before. As a junior higher or high schooler, it was a fun movie thinking of your wedding day, but this time it had a whole new meaning. Parts of the movie my eyes would begin to well up with tears, but I kept doing what I was doing, after all it is just a movie. That's when Brian said, why don't we just turn it off now. He said he didn't want to watch anymore. He was tearing up too. Then we started talking about how we were not going to handle Isabelle's getting married very well. It was a lot different watching this movie now that we have a little girl, who will some day leave and get married. Whew, it's hard on us parents even thinking about it. Maybe, it's just us, but....... It was funny though, because we both had tears in our eyes, but we were both laughing really hard at ourselves. We spent some extra time cuddling with Izze after that. Silly parents. LOL, HaHaHa,

Sick Little Girl

Do you see a theme here? Saturday Ian woke up with no fever and feeling himself, and that same day Izze started running a fever. Imagine that. She has been throwing up some and a high fever. I guess she has the same thing as Ian. Although, Ian didn't throw up. Anyways, we have been spending a lot of time at home, watching their favorite shows, and laying on the couch. Izze actually seems to be up moving today, but still a little fever, so hopefully it will pass soon. Praying that Brian and I don't get in on this sickness. Here's looking forward to some healthier days to come.

Sick Little Boy

Our little boy has been sick this week. He has been running a fever, and has a runny nose. The doctor says it's caused from a viral infection, and it will have to run it's course. Everything else was a clean bill when the Doctor checked him out.
So we wait....
He is on a rotation of Motrin, and Tylenol, which seems to be helping the fever. Yesterday, it reached a high of 105 degrees. I was ready to take him to the ER, but after giving him medicine, his temp had come down. Thank you Lord. The fevers make me so nervous, and I don't like to take chances with my babies.
He hasn't been sleeping well, I think Brain and I were up maybe five times last night. He hasn't been napping well either, I guess because it is hard for him to breath through his nose. We are all a little sleep deprived around here. Isabelle has been doing well, and I pray she stays well. Today, his fever seems to be down a little, so hopefully this will pass soon. I feel so badly for him, and would like to get back to our routine sleep schedule. You realize how important that good sleep schedule is when it is off. Here's to a good Friday with a healthier little boy.

Sam Noble Museum!

Isabelle and Ian with a dinosaur figure.

Ian in the play area with all the little play animals. I think he had the turtle.

Isabelle and Ian digging for dinosaur eggs. As you can see Ian is digging deep!

Ian trying to get the goggles on for the fossil digging. He couldn't make them fit really well.

Izze in her goggles digging for dinosaur bones. She had tools to scrap and dust them. She did that for a long time, she was really enjoying it.

Isabelle with her goggles on ready to dig for dinosaur bones. She was excited.

Our mom's group traveled to Norman on Monday to Sam Noble Museum. This was a first for us to visit the museum, and we had a lot of fun. The kids got to look at all the dinosaur structures, and lots of other animals, and interesting things. Izze got to dig for dinosaur bones. Ian just wanted to try on the goggles. Ian enjoyed playing with all the toy animals and books in the play area. They both got to dig for dinosaur eggs. Ian ended up having most of the stuff on the floor though. We even stopped by the gift shop for a dinosaur candy, which Isabelle picked out. The museum had lots of hands on stuff for the kids to touch and feel, so they really liked that. We can't wait to go back again. Izze keeps talking about it and she wants to bring daddy next time.

Gotta Love Friday's!!!!

Friday, yeah for Friday's. Brain is usually home, so we get to spend the day with him. We stayed around the house today while Brain fixed some stuff that he had been working on. I did get my hair done today though. It turned out really good. I think it is a little shorter and lighter than I had expected, but it looks good to me. I don't have a picture, but maybe I can come up with one, "maybe". Anyways, it has been a good relaxing day and we are looking forward to a good day tomorrow.

burrrr.........

burrr........ it is so cold today. The cold front moved in and it is in the mid 20's today. The kids and I stilled braved the weather to do a little grocery shopping. They both like to look at the lobsters when we go. That is almost the first thing Ian says now, in his little voice. So cute. Of course too, going to the potty seems to be a routine now when we go to walmart. It usually takes us an hour and a half to two hours to get it done, so I guess Izze can't hold it that long. I am learning patience every time we go to Walmart now. It is good for me. LOL We rush home to get lunch done, and play a little before nap time. Now, sections of my floor are covered in crumbs and leftover food, so I guess I better get to cleaning. Hope to have a great weekend coming!!

Forgot/Today!

I forgot in my last post to mention that Brian and I got away last weekend on a date. This was nice because since the holidays it had been awhile. We grabbed a bite at BJ's, which we tried the chicken Parmesan this time, and I would recommend it if you didn't want pizza. When we went in the restaurant it was in the 60's, and when we came out it was freezing, that cold front had moved in. We walked over to the mall to do a little shopping/looking, but the main purpose was to watch a movie. We shared our meal at BJ's so we could indulge in the butter popcorn at the movies, and indulge we did. It was great!! The movie was a really good one, but I told him it was a "watch at home" movie, because I had a tear or two come to my eyes a couple of times. On the way home we stopped and got a couple of different cake slices to take back and enjoy. It was a great night. I am excited to get back on a normal routine with those date nights with my man!!!

Today, the kids and I met with our friends to have some lunch. Izze really enjoys doing this. She always ask who is going to be there, so we go through all the names, and then where we are going, and what they have to eat. If they don't have pizza, or spaghetti it is usually a no go for her. Good thing this place had pizza. We had a fun time eating and trying to get in a conversation around taking care of our kiddos. So glad we have these friends in our lives. Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Past activites/Ramblings......

Well, I meant to do some blogging a few days back, but got distracted with other things it seems. I had someone tell me they look at my blog every day to see if I have posted new things, so I will try and do better. This blog will be dedicated to some fun things we have done lately.
Last week, we met Brian for lunch at one of our favorite places to go as a family, which is Saturn Grill. They have some of the best soups, sandwiches, salads, and pumpkin spice cookies with cream cheese icing, and good tea too. The kids seem to like this place because of the big half round seats and all the stars on the walls. We also enjoying shopping/looking at the shops around there too after lunch, a favorite is shoe gypsy. We got to meet with some friends and have dinner one night last week. Brian got back from his trip, and he brought gifts for all. He usually does that when he gets back from a trip. Ian got a football, Izze got a little jewelry box that you use markers to color on, she was really excited about doing that, and I got a fashion magazine and chocolate, great stuff. We got to have dinner with paw paw jack this last weekend, which we always enjoy. Izze always talks his ear off. I think I already mentioned this in a previous blog, but Izze is no longer in pull-ups at all. She is doing really well, we are very excited, and she has gotten a lot of little prizes since the big experience, so she is loving it. You can tell she is proud of herself too. This Monday, we had a fun mom's group at one of the mom's home. Izze and Ian always enjoy playing with other kids toys. Today, Tuesday, we had a fun time at the Library. Today was parachute day, Izze really likes when they have that. Ian and Izze were on opposite sides of the parachute and Ian did so well holding it and doing stuff this time. Isabelle did great by herself. I would watch her and she would smile at me as if to say look at me mommy I'm doing it all by myself. She seems to grow smarter, more independent, and just bigger all the time. I really have noticed it lately too, it seems like the closer she gets to the four year mark. Today, we also got a visit from papa Lin and Nanny Carol. The kids really enjoy seeing them, and yes Izze talked papas ear off. Time was too short, but maybe we will get to see them again soon. Tonight, we have band practice, the kids like going and playing and seeing Easter. Well, that about covers it all, hope to keep up a little better. Have a great Tuesday everyone. American Idol starts tonight!!! Yeppy!!!

Moving On To 09'

It's hard to believe we are in a New Year already. To me saying 2009, is strange. Well, we wrapped up 08' with a great Christmas and then a great New Years' Eve with friends. On New Years' Eve we celebrated with some friends of ours and their families. Last year we met at Red Robin to eat, so we thought we might as well make it a tradition, so we all settled down with some good hamburgers and steak fries. Yummy. (planning to start the "good" eating the next week).haha I have already begin to plan in my head some things I would like to accomplish this year and get done, just have to get them on something I can see everyday. This will be a new year of change, and growth. Not only in our church, but with the kids. Izze will be four in July and starting pre-k this next Aug. "Gasp". I only have a few more months to her all by myself, and then no turning back. She is becoming such a big girl. We have mastered the potty, both in #1, and #2 now. Now we are done with pull-ups all together, she is pull-up free! This is a huge milestone for those of you who know how we have progressed in this area. She shows so many signs of being independent, and can I just say how much I love her so. Ian will be turning two in April, can it be, yes it is. He is starting to talk more in little sentences, saying, mommy go, or I'll ask him something, and he'll say, don't know. He picks up on so much, I think Izze talking so well helps him along too. He is so sweet, and loud. lol. He wants and tries to everything his sister does. We have a song we sing together at night and he is so cute singing it. His little voice will go up high, and then he humms with me the rest. Can I say I love this little guy so much. Well, here is to a new year, new changes, new accomplishments, hope it is a great one for all of us.
