Milestones!

Here in the Rush household we have had some milestones take place! With our little guy Ian, who is now 10 months old, we have now had to lower his crib to the lowest setting. When I went to get him one day he was standing holding onto the bars, and if he isn't standing he is on his knees holding on. For me this was a little sad, because he is no longer that infant boy, but growing to become a little toddler. The next milestone is a big one. This week I have started to wean Ian from one of his feedings. The first couple of days he seemed a little unsettled, like something was bothering him. Now I'm not sure he remembers. This one was bitter sweet for me as well. The freedom that comes with ending the feedings is great, but at the same time realizing he is growing up, and not my infant baby anymore. Izze stopped on her own when she was 10 months old, but he seems content to keep going as long as I will let him. He will be one in April, so my goal is to have him completely weaned by then.

Not to forget our girl. Izze has shown more interest in the "big girl potty" lately. She has been asking to sit on it herself, and wanting to wear "big girl pants". She even went in the potty once. At least that is a start. I am still letting her decide the pace at this point. She just knows what she wants to do when she wants to do it. Hopefully this will become a regular thing, and we can say goodbye to diapers soon. These little guys are so amazing. I love to watch them grow and learn every day.

Zoo!

Today was just beautiful weather. The sun is shining a little too. Our mom's group went to the Zoo today, and Izze loved it. Last time we went to the zoo, I think she was too little to remember. She got to see the gorillas up close. At first she didn't want me to get to close to the glass window that separated us from them. Finally she decided it was ok. They are pretty amazing creatures. She got to see the rhinos, elephants, lions, and of course all her little friends. I let her out of the stroller, and she enjoyed the freedom of running and exploring everything around her. Ian seemed to enjoy the Zoo too. He seemed like he was sitting back taking everything in. You didn't hear much out of him. At the end of our adventure Izze and Camden kept yelling bye to one another across the elephant pens. He would yell, good bye Isabelle, and she would yell back, bye Camden until we were far enough away they couldn't see each other anymore. It was very cute. Like I said the weather was perfect, even a little hot from all the walking, I would suppose. It's good for me though. At least that's what I kept telling myself all the way up the hill to get back to the exit. That stroller can get heavy with both kids in it. Anyways, just want to say thank you to our mom's group, because we have a great group of women and mothers. Becky you do a great job with planning everything out for us to do! We will miss you when you move. The Zoo will definitely be a place we go back to when it starts warming up more. Have a great Monday everyone! (Yes, I forgot my camera again, no pictures again. Next time!)

"Crazy"

We had a great weekend! Sunday we had our commitment service for our "Crazy Campaign", which was really exciting! Our Crazy Campaign is a new adventure for our church family! This is a new time for growth and ministry to take place. March 2nd we plan to break ground on a new building that is 42,000 sq. ft. It will allow more people to come and find hope, people who care, and ministries they can be a part of, and most of all, find Jesus! The Lord has done so much, so quickly since we made the move to OKC to help start the church with the Cooper family in 2002. We can't wait to see what the Lord will do in 2008 in our church and in our own lives! We give it all to you Lord!

Update-Cafe Nova!

Wow! It seems like so many things have been happening, my thoughts overwhelm me. I can't remember everything I was going to blog about. First things first. Getting back to Valentine's day, my update on Cafe Nova. It was hip, modern & a fun place to eat. Inside they had great stuff to get decorating ideas from. We enjoyed a three course meal that was really good. Although a little more formal than we usually indulge in, our taste buds were not lacking. The chocolate molten lava cake was amazing. Anyone who loves chocolate would savor every bite. At the end of a wonderful dinner, we both decided that we preferred Deep Fork Grill for special occasions though. We enjoyed the evening together, with the kids fast asleep at home with the sitter. After dinner we headed back home for a little relaxing and a movie. It was a great night!

Valentines Day!

I have been asked out today on a Valentines date, by my husband. I have been formally invited by invitation to Cafe Nova. We have yet to try this restaurant out, so I will have to give an update tonight or tomorrow about our experience. This is one we have had on our "to try" list. Our reservation is for later in the evening when the kids are in bed, so the babysitter will have a good night. This late night will be exciting because our nights usually end at 6:30/7:00pm for the kids bed time. We will be late nighters tonight!! Thanks babe for the special invitation, so romantic, and creative!

LG Trax!!!

Third Day of Valentines Week, and my surprise is a new cell phone. You may be thinking what? If you knew how much I needed this, you would understand. I have had mine for years now. I don't even think they make mine anymore, and I can no longer charge it at home. I have to be in the car to charge it up, which this makes for a dead phone most of the time. You see, my days in the car are not as many as before Ian, with naps and schedules to attend to. You get the picture. A dead phone means that people can't get a hold of me when they need to, or when I go out and need to use it, and it won't work. Can you say frustration! This was so needed. That's the thing with my husband, he notices the small things too. He sees when I need something, or wants my life to be better in every way. Thanks babe for noticing the little things that really do mean just as much as the big things!

The Rose!

Tonight it was one long stemmed rose. Izze thought daddy brought it for her, and wanted it, so I let her help me put it in water. She came running in the house saying, "daddy got flowers". It was really sweet. I love it babe. Thank you for being so thoughtful to me. Happy Valentines Week!

Week of Surprises!

Day one of Valentine's Week.
Brian is calling this week, the week of love. Or Valentines week. Last night he brought me home a caramel fudge brownie with pecans. It was sooo good. He knows me well. He said that each night will get better, so can't wait to see what tonight brings. I love surprises!! Love you babe!

Valentines Party!

Yesterday, our mom's group got together to have a Valentines party for the kids. One of our mom's opened her home, and all her kids toys to us and to our kids. Thank you so much Amy! We had lots of yummy stuff to eat, and the kids loved playing up stairs in the play room. I had to go and find Izze to get her to come and eat, or to do anything else. Amy has a great house with lots of room to play. Izze got to decorate her own Valentine bucket to put her Valentines in. She put hearts all over it. Then it was time to pass out the Valentines. Now, that took skill and patience. I was holding Ian and trying to pass out the Valentines, Izze was pre - occupied with all the festivities. I forgot my camera, so no pictures this time. I am really disappointed about that, but my friends all got really cute pictures with all the kids together and their Valentine buckets. After the festivities we headed out for home to take naps. I guess the kids were over tired because it was hard to get them down for a nap and then they both slept less than an hour, but at least they had fun. Except Ian, every time I would put him down and leave the room he would cry. He is a mommy's boy, or separation anxiety has kicked in. Have a great Valentines day on Thursday!

Good Thursday!

Thursday today! Well, the weather is shaping up compared to last time I blogged. By Saturday it will reach into the 60's. The kids and I have had a good morning, and after naps we will venture to Target (my favorite place). We are on the look for some valentine cards for Izze. She will have her first Valentine's party this year with our mom's group. It will be fun to see her hand out all her cards to her little friends. Ian still has a runny nose, but Izze seems to be fine now. Both Brian and I have stayed well too. Well, here's to a great Thursday!

A Day!

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday we had spring fever with the temperatures in the high 70's, (near 80) and today it is cloudy, rainy and in the 30's. How could you get anymore extreme. Well, despite the little tease yesterday and the cold today we are having a good day!

We had a great dinner last night with some people from the church. Izze always jumps right in with the playing. She had one of them outside, and then wouldn't hardly leave them alone inside. She likes to play that is for sure. She seems to like new people too, once she warms up to them. Her and her brother are fighting colds again. Either that or teeth, they both seem to be chewing and slobbering on everything. Oh well, this too will pass. Have a great Tuesday. Can't wait to watch American Idol tonight. It's our Tuesday night TV.

Spring Fever!

What a gorgeous day today! Wow, it really makes me want spring and summer to be here. The kids and I got out this morning for some outdoor time, it felt great! Izze had fun running and trying to fly her kite. Ian was in the swing some watching. I know he can't wait to join her sometime soon. You can see it in his eyes, he wants to be out there with her. We even had a little pick nick outside, which Izze thought was great. She didn't really want to come in for a nap, but I finally got her in. It has been a great day so far, can't wait for more. Spring fever has hit, it makes me want to clean and organize everything, so I better get started.
