Last week our mom's group went to a place where the kids could bounce, slide, play basketball (for little kids), play dress-up, play in a kid grocery store, and all sorts of other fun things to do. The kids had so much fun. Isabelle's favorite thing was the dress-up closet, as you can tell from the pictures. She is something. Ian enjoyed just about everything, except he did seem to spend a lot of time by the race car video games. After all the fun activities we headed to lunch with friends, it was a fun day!

Let me start by saying, we had such a fun time this year celebrating Valentine's Day with the kids. With that said, we also lost some of our pictures so I won't get to post some of the fun stuff, but I will try to explain it. This year was a year of new traditions and celebrating all week long. We did several different crafts to celebrate the "love season". Breakfast was sometimes filled with heart shaped toast, and lunch with heart shaped sandwiches. We celebrated with special strawberry shortcake dessert after dinners. I got a great picture of Ian eating this with cool whip all over his lips, but the picture is gone. Everyone seemed to enjoy the strawberry shortcake, except Izze didn't care for it too much, just more for mommy and daddy to enjoy. Brian and I enjoyed a night out as well, which proved to be interesting, but great to be with my man. We celebrated together as a family all week and got cards and treats for everyone. The kids both picked out things for Brian, (with a little help from mommy.) They surprised him in the morning when he was still asleep. It was great! This year was the first of many one on one dates for Isabelle and daddy. This is something we have talked about doing and making it a part of her growing up, we thought this would be a good time to start. She was so excited when Brian asked her if she wanted to go on a date with him. She ran to her room and was saying, "this is so exciting," "this is the best thing in the whole wide world". To say the least she was thrilled. She couldn't wait until time to go. She wanted to get all dressed up, like a princess, she said. Brian even put on a suit jacket. They both looked so great! I can't begin to tell you how excited my heart was, seeing all the excitement in her face. My heart was leaping inside of my chest, because I never had this daddy daughter relationship growing up, and knowing, and seeing her have this in such a special way makes my heart so proud. Well, they left for their date and went to Bravo's. She got to make her own pizza, (they give her dough and everything to make it from scratch). She got to sit on the counter top and watch them put it in the brick oven to bake, and watch it cook. She felt so special, you can tell from the pictures. We ended our Valentine's week with a visit to Paw paw Jack's house. We had made him some special Valentines to take to him. We had a fun week, looking forward to many more.

Ian's 1st Haircut!!

Ian with his hair already cut.

Isabelle getting her hair cut too.

Yesterday, Ian got his first haircut. I wasn't sure about cutting those beautiful golden locks, but it was beginning to look a little like a mullet. We can't have that, but on him it was so cute. He never cried or acted like he didn't want it cut, he just sat really still. I'm not sure he knew what to think. He is so handsome, but I think I will be glad for some of it to grow back. I just love his long hair. I got to save some of his hair for his baby book too. Ian and I enjoyed some cookies while Isabelle was getting her hair done. We didn't go as short this time, because she said she wanted it to grow longer, so....... We cut her bangs and a little shape up, but that was it this time. I guess we will see how growing it out is. They both look so cute in their new do's.

Safe Now....

Boy did we have a crazy afternoon yesterday. The tornado sirens went off three different times. We lost our electricity, our phones, and my cell phone wouldn't work either. I didn't have a clue of where the tornado was at, if it was going to hit or not. I gathered the kids and a couple of big comforters and huddled in the hallway, along with some books and snacks, (I didn't want them to be too scared, if they didn't have to be). We stayed there for a good portion of the late afternoon, early evening, then we got power again, and I was able to find out what was going on. Thank you Lord for keeping us safe. There was damage just down the street from us, and around other parts of the metro. I am not ready for the spring severe weather, that is for sure, but I do so enjoy the Spring time. After that experience I told Brian we have to get a weather radio, so I will know what is going on.

Isabelle and Ian before we left for our Valentines party. They were in their outfits that Nanny Carol and Papa Lin had got them for Valentines Day! So cute!! Thank you nanny and papa!

The kids were feeling better, so Monday, we headed out to meet with our mom's group. It was so nice to see everyone. We had our Valentine's party, which was a lot of fun. The kids got to make their own heart necklaces, play a few games, have a picnic lunch inside, and have a book exchange instead of the usual valentines. We all had so much fun playing and hanging out with our friends. Gaylee had yummy desserts for us too. The funniest thing was watching all the kids take turns trying to get their heart sticker on the big robot balloon! LOL We are so glad for such a great mom's group! Glad to know all you ladies!

Valentines Dress!

Izze in her dress up angel outfit we brought her back from our trip. (Nothing to do with the Valentines dress, but I thought she looked so cute in this pic.)

Izze in her Valentine dress, and Ian giving kisses!

Ian, and then Izze in her Valentines dress. They were both so excited that Nanny and Papa were going to be there.

With Valentines Day fast approaching, Nanny made Izze a Valentines dress, which Izze had to try on and wear the rest of the day. Actually, I think Nanny said she wanted to wear it all weekend long. It is red with white hearts, and a big red heart button at the top, with some white trim too. She also got her some white, with lace at the bottom, leggings, which Izze had to try those on as well. Along with some heart socks, which you can't see, but she had to have those on too. They didn't quite match the dress, but she didn't mind. Brother was not left out either. Nanny and Papa never forget him. He got some new pants and shirt, along with a Valentines book (Izze also got a book). He will look very handsome, I'm sure. As you can see he wasn't as interested in trying on his clothes though. They got new clothes and Nanny and Papa were here for a couple of days, they were so excited!! Thank you Nanny and Papa for coming and for the fun stuff too!

The Simple Things......

Ian, Me, and Isabelle before we left for our trip. They were so excited that Nanny and Papa would be there, and putting them night, night!

Me, and Isabelle. She wanted one more hug.

I would say I am a person who enjoys the simple things in life. I enjoy being with my kids and my husband. Hanging out with friends. A good cup of coffee. A nice piece of chocolate, or a whole big piece is better. I enjoy staring at the stars, and the moon with the kids. This makes them so excited to point out the moon and stars to show me. I love to hear my kids say, "I love you mommy". I love to get a card or email from my husband, just to say he thinks a lot of me. I so enjoy getting away on our Dallas trips too, with or without the kids, but without is usually more relaxing. All this to say, last weekend Brian and I got to get away on a Dallas trip for a couple of days by ourselves, thanks to Nanny Carol, and papa Lin. Thank you so much to them for taking their time, so we could get away a couple of days. We had so much fun. We ate late every night. I say late but in Dallas, 9:00pm isn't that late, but in our house dinner is around 5:00, because of early bedtimes, so 9pm was late for us, it was great! We had our favorite Tex-Mex, favorite Italian, favorite French, and of course our favorite "hot spots" to shop at. Yes, these times are special for me, and I love to spend them with my best friend, my husband. Can't wait to go again!!

Sick Bug - Again

Well, the sick bug has hit the kiddos again. It started yesterday or the day before, my days are starting to run together. Hopefully it won't last as long as last time. It seems to be the same stuff, I guess. Brain and I have not gotten it, thank the Lord, hope it stays that way. It's hard to take care of the sick when you yourself are sick, so..... The good thing is, Spring is coming. These last couple of days have really made me want spring to come more quickly.
