Let me start by saying, we had such a fun time this year celebrating Valentine's Day with the kids. With that said, we also lost some of our pictures so I won't get to post some of the fun stuff, but I will try to explain it. This year was a year of new traditions and celebrating all week long. We did several different crafts to celebrate the "love season". Breakfast was sometimes filled with heart shaped toast, and lunch with heart shaped sandwiches. We celebrated with special strawberry shortcake dessert after dinners. I got a great picture of Ian eating this with cool whip all over his lips, but the picture is gone. Everyone seemed to enjoy the strawberry shortcake, except Izze didn't care for it too much, just more for mommy and daddy to enjoy. Brian and I enjoyed a night out as well, which proved to be interesting, but great to be with my man. We celebrated together as a family all week and got cards and treats for everyone. The kids both picked out things for Brian, (with a little help from mommy.) They surprised him in the morning when he was still asleep. It was great! This year was the first of many one on one dates for Isabelle and daddy. This is something we have talked about doing and making it a part of her growing up, we thought this would be a good time to start. She was so excited when Brian asked her if she wanted to go on a date with him. She ran to her room and was saying, "this is so exciting," "this is the best thing in the whole wide world". To say the least she was thrilled. She couldn't wait until time to go. She wanted to get all dressed up, like a princess, she said. Brian even put on a suit jacket. They both looked so great! I can't begin to tell you how excited my heart was, seeing all the excitement in her face. My heart was leaping inside of my chest, because I never had this daddy daughter relationship growing up, and knowing, and seeing her have this in such a special way makes my heart so proud. Well, they left for their date and went to Bravo's. She got to make her own pizza, (they give her dough and everything to make it from scratch). She got to sit on the counter top and watch them put it in the brick oven to bake, and watch it cook. She felt so special, you can tell from the pictures. We ended our Valentine's week with a visit to Paw paw Jack's house. We had made him some special Valentines to take to him. We had a fun week, looking forward to many more.

  1. I love that they are having dates! I laughed out loud at what Izze said, and had to tell Roy. I can't wait to see Roy and Warren hanging out together, and I plan to do that with Warren, too. Like you said, we never had that, so it's so important to be sure our kids do.
