Paw Paw's House!

Friday evening Izze got to go to Paw Paw Jack's house. She always likes to see Paw Paw and see his doggie, called Lady. Izze and Lady sat in a rocking chair, and Izze would throw her toys. Paw Paw likes to give Izze "piggy food", (which is money for her little piggy bank.) She loves getting piggy food, and can't wait to get home and put it in her piggy bank. We headed out for some dinner with Paw Paw, and we had a great time.

6 Months Old!

Ian had his 6 month checkup Monday. The time seems to go by so fast. He is growing just fine. He gained about a pound from his 4 month checkup. He is 15 pounds, 4oz., (which puts him in the 10 to 25%), and he is 27 1/4 inches long, (which puts him in the 75 to 90%.) He had to get four shots this time, and then one oral. This time he seemed to be a little more irritable than last time, and he ran a low grade fever for a day. Now he seems to be back to himself. He smiles all the time, and laughs out loud. He loves his sister. He laughs at her all the time. It just makes me smile when I see them playing together. Such a young age, but they are still connecting somehow in their own way. I can't imagine it any other way.

Evening Out!

The kids and I headed out this evening to the mall to meet with the ladies (staff ladies and their kids). Izze was so excited to get out and play. We didn't get out much yesterday because of the rain and then this morning it was cold, so she was ready. We met at Quail Springs for some dinner at the food court, and then down to the play area for some fun. She went down the slide over and over again. She had a blast playing with her friends. It was a great night of fun.

NEW BABY GIRL!

Goldie has arrived! CONGRATULATIONS to Mike, Sunny & Jackson on the arrival of their new baby girl (Jacksons' sister)! She arrived Monday October 23rd, 2007. We heard she has a whole head of hair. We are so excited for you, and can't wait to see pictures of her. What an awesome blessing!

Nanny Time!

On Sunday we had a visit from Nanny Carol! Izze always gets so excited when she knows she is coming. She has this expression, her eyes get big and she smiles, and says "nanny coming?" Nanny stopped by to see the kids on her way into Ponca for a couple of weeks. She came with gifts for the kids too. Izze got a new coat, and a couple of outfits, and brother made out pretty good too with a couple of outfits. You can't beat that. She also brought a picture album for me with all the pictures that grandma had and Carol had of me growing up. It was really special for me to get that. I had never even seen some of the pictures before, so it was nice to see little pieces of my childhood, and the people around me at that time. Thank you for the memories in my photo album and thank you for the memories my children will have of you in their lives.

Chester's Pumpkin Patch!

Isabelle on the pony ride. The goat trying to eat Izze's shirt. Isabelle petting a rabbit.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

This weekend we took Izze and Ian to Chester's Pumpkin Patch. Izze had so much fun! We took her last year, but I think she enjoyed it a little better this year since she is older. Ian just was relaxing in the stroller, but he seemed to be taking it all in. Izze loved going on the pony ride. At first she was a little scared, but she got on and rode, by herself even. She wanted to go again afterwards. She got to pet a rabbit, feed a goat, see lambs, horses, a llam, chicken's, a donkey, and one of the small goats tried to eat her shirt. Then it was pumpkin time. She ran to one small pumpkin first thing, like she new exactly which one she had been waiting for. It was a good one too. She wanted to hold as many pumpkins as she could get a hold of. As you can see that was only two small ones, but she wanted more. It was so fun to watch her. She looks more and more like a little girl now, and not so much like a baby anymore. Next year she will enjoy it even more and Ian will be old enough to get out there with her. We love this time of year.

Girl Time!

This past week we had a staff girls get together, which I always enjoy. We usually gather around for lunch and we end up talking about kids, hair, clothes and much more. Izze loves to play with all her little friends as well. Ian even had a little friend to play with this time. He got to share some toys with our youth pastor's little girl, she is a few weeks younger than Ian. It was really cute to see them connecting even at their young age. We will be looking forward to the next one. It's nice to have some girl time.

Hair?

Well, I finally did it. Yup, you guessed it, I cut off my hair. My grandpa always used to say that a woman's hair was her glory (or her beauty), but I had to have a change, for now at least. For a few months now I have held off on the hair cut appointments, because I was in a total loss of what to do. Then I just decided to do something different. I went shorter and a little lighter (now I wish I would have gone even lighter, but there's always next time). My friends and I have all had the same talk about hair. We are needing something different and not much help in the magazines it seems. A couple of us decided to go shorter and change it up a bit, and we are feeling pretty good about our decisions. So take a look at the new hair. This is what you'll see the next time you see me.

Play Time!

Today we had our mom's group, which Izze and I always enjoy going to. Ian will eventually, he just doesn't know it yet. We have missed some lately because Ian is taking his morning nap good now and he is usually still sleeping. So, it will probably be hit and miss until he starts taking one nap. We got rained out from the park, so we headed for somewhere indoors. The play center at the Quail Springs Mall. Izze loves to go down the slide over and over again. After one of her slides she came to me with this funny look on her face and wiping her eye. I guess a little boy had accidentally hit her while they were sliding. She was fine, not crying and then she was off again to slide. She is so funny with the expressions on her face. She is starting to understand sad faces and more serious faces and then she will do them herself. Sometimes I just have to laugh because of them. I think how sad it is that she is growing so fast, but at the same time I love seeing all the new things she is doing and learning.

A Nice Get-A-Way!

Well, we headed out for a couple of days of vacation. We went to one of our favorite places to just get away, Dallas! We like to be in the big city. We always enjoy eating at our favorite little spots, and a few places we like to shop at that we don't have here in Oklahoma. The kids did so great on this trip. Izze took naps in her stroller, and Ian did as well. He slept through some pretty loud stuff. Bedtime was interesting. We stayed in one room, and Izze ending up sleeping with us, which she has never really done before. I think her feet were in Brian's back all night and the rest of her was on my side. We would try and move her in the night and she would end up the same way. Ian woke up once and cried. I think he was just a little scared, he didn't know where he was. That lasted about 10 to 15 minutes and then he was back to sleep for the rest of the night. All in all, not to bad of a night. Although, we got up the next morning thinking we must be getting older because we have all these aches and pains. Either the bed or Izze, not sure. Izze got to go to her favorite place the carousel ride. She loves riding the horses, and then daddy gets her a balloon afterwards. Ikea is always a lot of fun, just looking and getting ideas for what we would like to do in our next home someday. We had a really good time. The best part for me is being together having fun (and a new outfit). Can't wait for the next trip.
