Dedication!

This past Sunday, September 23rd, we had Ian dedicated in the noon service. When Pastor Herbert first took him he was fine. Then the face, then the little cry, followed with the tears. He did pretty good though, just a cry here and there. Then back to mommy and all was well again. I think we may be starting the separation anxiety a little early. We had lots of family come in to celebrate this special day with us. After the service we headed back to our house for lunch. We didn't think it would be wise to keep the kids up any longer than usual. We may be headed for a melt down if we did that. We had a great time together. Thank you to everyone who was able to come be apart of this day with us.

All Girl!

This week we had a visit from nanny Carol. This is a special treat, because nanny lives all the way in Amarillo Texas. Izze was so excited to see her she kept asking about nanny all morning. Nanny was going to bring us lunch and Izze and Ian new outfits for fall. One of the first things Izze said, was nanny brought you new clothes. Nanny got her a cute brown and pink (these colors have been a theme in Izze's room since she was a baby) skirt, with a pink top and a fluffy, oh so soft brown jacket. She loved it. She put it all on and just danced and jumped all around, and around. She didn't really stop until it was nap time. She wanted to put them back on after her nap too. The look on her face, she new she looked cute and was special to mommy and nanny. She is all girl. She loves new clothes and accessories. I guess she gets it honest though, her mommy likes those things too (and daddy likes to shop some).
The morning ended with Izze saying, "I love you nanny", and big hugs. We always enjoy spending time with nanny Carol, and papa Lin when he gets to come. Come back soon!

FAIR TIME!

Tonight we ventured out to the state fair. We had SO much fun! I think the fair gets better when you watch your kids enjoying it. Izze got to go in the petting zoo. She saw turtles, kangaroos, goats, rabbits, llamas, ostriches, she even reached out with her little finger to touch the cows. She played in the biggest sandbox, which was 400sq. feet, and loaded with shovels and buckets. We had our taste of the fair food with one of Izze's favorites, PIZZA! Ian just got to hang out in the stroller, maybe next year little man. Sorry everyone no pictures to post, the camera didn't make this adventure with us.

Family Pictures!

At least once a year and sometimes twice we try and take family pictures. Our favorite place to take them is Will Rogers Park. It is filled with tons of picture perfect settings. Some friends of ours went with us to help take the pictures, since it is a lot harder to get that perfect picture when you are trying to get everyone to smile and look straight. Anyways, we got some good ones. Thought everyone would enjoy seeing some of them!

The "Deep Fork"

For all of "us" food lovers out there you may want to check out this place, Deep Fork Grill. If you live in the city or are just visiting you may want to make this a for sure stop. Brian and I went there a couple of weeks ago on a date night and decided it would be a favorite special place to go back to. Brian and I got the rotisserie chicken and the mac and cheese. Now, this mac and cheese is not the stuff in the blue box, and I would even dare to say it's not like grandma made either, it's totally different. You'll just have to try it! Hope you enjoy!

Tag, Your It!

I was tagged by a friend to do this fun game. There are some rules to read first, then to my blog. Well here it goes:

Here are the rules:
1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. ***IF you have already done your middle name than do the State that you live in with new adjectives!*****
3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts. ***Or state if you have already been tagged before!***
4. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Here is mine:

D-Devoted: I am totally devoted to anything that I am doing to the finish. I am devoted to God, my family and friends.

A-Affectionate: I try to be a loving wife, mother, and friend. Brian said this word fit me well.

W-Wonderfully Made: I know God has created me for his purpose and plan. He has made me who I am, and who I am going to be.

N-Neat-Freak: I like for things to be clean and in order. Although, since having kids I have learned to relax a little. I realize it's really not that big of a deal to have everything perfect.

This little game was defiantly harder than I had anticipated. It does make you think about yourself and your qualities. Give it a try and you might find out some interesting things about yourself. I will be tagging some of you, so check your emails!!

The Simple Things!

I love evenings like last night. When Brian gets home and Izze runs to give him a hug, and immediately wants to play. We have dinner, and then outside for a walk and to play at our little park area down by the pond. Izze loves to slide and daddy taught her how to climb up the bars to get to the slide all by herself. Such a big girl. They climbed and went sliding and then onto the swings. She always says "hold on tight" when we swing her, now that she can swing in the big swings. You can tell she has heard that a few times. Ian and I just watched with almost amazement. I can't help but to drink every bit of it in, because I know someday she won't want to slide and swing anymore. Then the walk home for bedtime. After the kids go down for bed, it's time for Brian & I just to hangout. That's a good thing about early bedtimes. Sometimes I think it's the simple things that make life the most enjoyable.

Labor Day!

The Rush's had a relaxing Labor Day spent with family and friends. We set out to do lunch together before nap time rolled around, which I always enjoy the extra little outings now days. Brian and I watched a movie while the kids took their naps. Then it was off to "paw, paw Jack's" house to visit him and his dog "Lady." Izze always seems really excited to see Lady, but she is not so social once she gets there. It takes her a few minutes to warm up to her. After paw, paw's we ventured to friends of ours for a cookout. There were a few other families there as well, so the kids had lots of fun playing. After eating, we all headed outside to watch the kids entertain themselves. Then home for bedtime. It was nice to spend time with friends and family. Thanks for a great day.

Summer Time Fun!

When you are two years old all you want is to have fun! Izze loves to play in her pool, and really any type of water activity. On this day we had to settle for the big ball sprinkler. Our whale pool blew away a few nights ago caused by tropical storm Erin. Although, I think we seemed to care more than she did. She was just excited to be outside in the water anyway. She also has learned to kick the ball with her feet/legs. She thinks that is so much fun. It's amazing to watch her run and kick it like it's the greatest thing ever. Summer time fun, I hope I never forget these moments, and I hope she won't forget them either.

"BIG Saturday Night"

Isabelle had a blast at our Big Saturday night service last week. After the second service, we had tons of stuff for the kids and a cookout at the church. We had pony rides, a petting zoo, and inflatables. Izze loved the ball pit. She spent most of the time in the balls throwing them and jumping around. She also got to pet and feed a bunny rabbit, goat and a duck. We had to cut the experience short because brother was getting heavy on mom's arm in his carrier. She was talking about it all the next day. She is so fun to watch, you can't help but to smile.
