Zoo, weekend, Spring Break..........

We had a fun weekend, which included a date night with my man!! Whoo Hoo! We tried out a new place, well for us, we had never been. Iguana Grill, tex mex food, so good. The queso was amazing, and the salsa fresh. We then headed to Sera Sera's for a cup cake. I tried the strawberry this time, it was really good... Then headed to see, "The Blind Side." One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Worth Seeing. It was a great night with my husband, even got in a little Target... lol

We had a family breakfast together this weekend. This is one of my favorite things to do. We get up early, usually because the kids get us up before 7:00, then we head out. The kids love it too, they always get excited to go. I love, love my family. I am so blessed and grateful for them. Truly!!!

Today, Izze started Spring Break! It sounds so strange to say that, I just never imagined her in school. She is my baby, and always will be. She is excited to be out of school and so am I. This school thing has been a transition for all of us.

Today, our mom's group headed to the Zoo. The new Children's Zoo is open, and the kids had a blast. A little cool, but well worth it to get out and do something we haven't been able to do in a while. Thanks to all the ladies that came out, we had fun!

This Spring Break week is full of fun stuff for us! We are looking forward to it. We have a little trip planned some of the time, getting together with family in the weekend, meeting with friends tonight for dinner. Fun week ahead!!

Should have pics and update next time.

Have a great Spring Break to all!

Weekend happenings/random thoughts!

We have had such a great morning this morning with friends, even though the weather is rainy, and a little cold, we were filled with the warmth of friendship. Our mom's group was fun this morning at bouncin craze. The kids love this place, and they have added new stuff for the kids to play on. Izze had rosy cheeks the whole time, she just goes and goes in that place. Thanks ladies for the great conversation, it's nice to be able to talk with friends, and get some advice too.

This weekend was fun as well. Friday morning was the start of a consignment sale that a friend of mine and I go to every year. We wait in line to get in at 8:00AM, then rush to the racks of choice to hunt for our treasures. I ended up with some great buys, I love it. Even though I don't see my friend most of the time we are at the consignment we usually meet up with our piles of clothes to go through together, and we talk each other out, or into buying certain pieces. LOL

My mom stayed with us one night this weekend. Her husband was having heart surgery. Izze was very excited all day to see Nanny Faith. Izze gave up her bed to Nanny, so she could have a nice place to sleep, and Izze was excited to sleep with brother in his room in a sleeping bag.

We tried to grill hamburgers this weekend since the weather was great, and found out our propane was gone. Inside we came to cook them, we'll be getting a new bottle for the grilling season ahead.

Izze got to tour one of the Edmond fire stations on Friday, she was super excited about it, and still has the fire station tattoo on her hand to show off.

Sunday afternoon we cuddled on the couch with the kids, and watched a Disney movie of Ian's choice, it was great!!

I have a girls night coming...... I love getting together with my friends, I am better because they are in my life.

Have some exciting things coming up soon!!!!!

Have a good week all!

Izze is really excited about this and that she will sleep in her bed, and Izze will get to sleep with brother.

Weekend happenings...

This weekend was packed full of all things Valentines along with many other things.

Friday, Brian and I tried a new place for our date night/Valentines dinner. Mickey Mantels in Bricktown, it was really good, and perfect for that evening.

We headed to cheesecake Factory for a little dessert, our favorite is the red velvet cream cheese/ cheese cake. So So good. To top the evening off, we headed to the mall for some shopping time. It was a great time with my best friend - my husband.

Saturday was all about Isabelle and daddy's date. She picked Mcdonalds for a happy meal. The kids don't get those very often, so I guess they think they are a really special thing. Then daddy and Isabelle headed down town to Sera Sera Cupcakes for a special cupcake treat. They have really good cupcakes. They even brought mommy and brother one back.
Ian and mommy went on a date too, he picked the same place, we waited until we knew daddy and sister were gone.

Sunday was packed full as well. We had 3 great experiences on Sunday. After the 3 experiences, and naps, we celebrated a little family Valentines day at home. We had cards, balloons for the kids and treats, and mommy got a manicure/pedicure surprise!! We topped it off with strawberry shortcake.

We had a great weekend celebrating being a family, with lots of love.

I truly love my family, I am a blessed woman to have them in my life.

Here's to a great week ahead! The sun is shining today!

Tuesdays down low............

Today is a Tuesday, which feels like a Monday. I think because our Monday was so busy, and just flew right by. Feeling a little slow and tired today. Nothing a little starbucks can't handle, maybe a little afternoon pick me up!

I have many loads of laundry to get done today.

I need to also run some errands and take some things back, don't know if I will make it this morning before I take Izze to school or not. Hopefully though.

Kids and I worked on their own Valentine creations today. Ian is growing and doing stuff so well these days. He is catching right up to Izze.

Tuesday band practice has been moved to Thursday this week, so tonight will actually be a regular night at the Rush household.

Survivor starts this week, yeah... looks to be a good one!

Chiropractic appointment scheduled for today as well.

Need to work on my calendar and bills this afternoon while Ian naps.

Chicken Caesar salad on the menu for tonight.

Need to get caught up in every area today!

Here's to a great day, the sun is shining!!!!!

The down low..........

We had a great time today at our mom's group Valentine party. The kids were really excited, they could hardly wait to eat the goodies, and hand out their Valentines to their friends.

It started snowing this morning, but doesn't look to be a major storm. The roads seem to be good for driving.

Izze is celebrating her 100th day of school today. She was really excited to wear her school shirt, and have cake for a snack today.

I will be helping at Izze's school with her Friendship festival this week. I'm always excited to see her at school, in a different element.

Valentine week this week. Brian and I are trying out a new spot in Bricktown this year. We have heard it is great. Can't wait.

I am getting a new cell phone, yeah!!! It will be a lot easier to text now.

We had a fun family date night this weekend. We took the kids to one of our favorite places to go on our dates. They thought this was special.

Visited papa Jack in the hospital twice this weekend. Hope he gets back home soon, and feels better.

Got to do some shopping by myself this weekend, got a lot done.

Sunday experience was amazing. Sexual Revolution series has started. The worship was great as always. The special, "if you want it, then you gotta put a ring on it", the team did great!! I wanted to stay and watch it again.

Had a great weekend with staff & food!

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day!

This year Christmas was a little different. We had so much snow start on Christmas Eve that we were not able to go see family. We stayed home and celebrated together. Christmas Eve the snow begin to fall, and kept falling and blowing, they called it the blizzard of 09'. The kids wanted to go out in it, we tried it, and they lasted for about 5 seconds, because it was blowing so hard. The next day, Christmas Day was brighter. No wind, so they got to go out and enjoy the beautiful snow. It was too powdery to make a snow man so the kids made snow angels instead. Such a fun time for them, and I so enjoyed watching them.

Christmas Day, the kids were of course ready to open presents. We have a tradition of reading the Christmas story before we open presents, then they get to tear into them. Izze helped sort the presents this year, like a big girl, so very helpful!
They received so many great gifts from their nanny's and papa's. They are proudly displaying their new treasures. We even had a great Christmas dinner, thanks to Walmart down the road, that was about as far as we wanted to try and get out. It was a really great Christmas spent with my most precious people!! We will always remember the Christmas of 09'.

Christmas activities!

This Christmas we had several fun activities, I'll share some highlights from our Christmas week of fun! This year we put together our first gingerbread house. The kids were more than excited to do this. We had wrapped it, and put it under the tree, because it was a special family present to do together. The kids got to open it on Christmas Eve, while we were snowed in. The kids ate a lot of the candy before it made it onto the gingerbread house, oh, and Ian kept eating the frosting out of the bag so we kind of ran out of frosting, but none the less, we thought it was a great looking house. The kids were very proud! The week of Christmas we went down to Bricktown to admire all the festive decorations, and to eat with friends. We even watched as people went down on tubes on the man made snow hill. The kids got to pet the horses down town, these are the horses used for the carriage rides. It was a special time as a family.

Christmas week was full of cooking of course, so the kids got in on the fun. They always want to help me cook, so I let them. They got to make, and bake their very own sugar cookies this year. At the end Ian had green hands from the sprinkles, and they both had tasted some icing. They were really proud of their cookies. Such cute cooks!

Christmas Eve, before the blizzard we headed out for our annual light show. To us this means, getting hot chocolate for the kids, and Starbucks for mommy and daddy, and head to look at Christmas lights. We found some really good ones this year. The kids were so amazed and wanted to touch them all. It is amazing how they get all those lights so perfect. We had such a great Christmas week, one we won't forget. New traditions, and old ones alike!

More to come......

Isabelle's 1st Christmas Program!!!!!

Wow 2010 is here! How could we already be in another year? I feel like I have so much to post since my last post. We had a great Christmas with lots of exciting things going on. My goal is to post as much as possible this week to get caught up.

First thing, Isabelle had her first class Holiday program at school before her Christmas break started. It was so much fun to see her in action. She was a lot more animated than I had anticipated. We got some video and pics., but both Brian and I were so proud. I think we had smiles through the whole thing. Her class had prepared songs to sing for us. They all came into the classroom single file, and up on risers they went. They did several songs many with some actions to them. Izze had her eyes on us most of the time, she was great! She is growing and learning so much, sometimes she surprises me with what she comes up with, or knows. It was a great way to start the Christmas week!
