Nanny & Papa Visit

This Thursday, we got to spend some time with Nanny Carol & Papa Lin. They have been here in the City with Caleb while he is in the hospital, and recovering from surgery. The kids were so excited knowing that they were coming to see them. We meet up with them at Old Chicago, their pizza is so good! The kids really wanted Papa and Nanny to come back to our house for a little bit, so they did. We always enjoy spending time with them. I think the kids miss them when they haven't seen them in awhile. Isabelle climbed all over papa, and Ian broke out just a little bit of his dance/singing skills. He gets his little leg going and everything. So cute. Isabelle had on her new dress that Nanny and Papa got her too. She put it on at the hospital, and has worn it for two days now!! Nanny and Papa stayed for awhile and then they needed to get back to the hospital. We had a good time with them, and hope to see them again soon!! Love you guys!

Ian Swimming

Brian had this Thursday off instead of his regular day off, so he got to enjoy taking the kids to their swimming lessons. Yes, Ian did better with him than he does with me, the instructor even thought so. Something about the daddy role! Since Brian was able to get in the water with Ian, I was able to get some shots of him in action this time too, instead of just Izze. They both did so well this time. Izze is doing better going under water, and Ian is getting more used to the water. It was really fun to be able to watch him too.

1st day, "Little Rock" Vacation!

Isabelle testing out Jackson's scooter. This was a big hit with both kids!

Ian, Me, and Izze at the baseball game, it was very humid. It started to rain on us too, but we had our umbrellas handy.

Ian, Uncle Mike, and Izze relaxing back at their house!

This was all of us at the baseball game, except Brian, who was taking the picture. Mike and his family on the left and us on the right.

Isabelle and Jackson, showing some cousin love. Saying good bye for the night.

Uncle Mike, Ian, and Goldie, hanging out together!

Ian, Brian, and Izze chillin. It was bed time, and they were getting tired.

Jackson & Isabelle playing on top of Jackson's bunk bed with all his fun toys. That was a fun thing to do,crawl up on the top bed.

Goldie & Ian having fun! They would run all around the house.

Well, I am a little behind, but we had a few days of vacation a couple of weeks ago. We went to visit Brian's brother and his family in North Little Rock. We had never been there before, so we were excited to see the family and Little Rock. The trip there went faster than we thought, and rained on us most of the drive, but still a good road trip. We arrived at the hotel late and ready for bed. This was a first for Isabelle and Ian to share a bed. I have to admit I was a little skeptical of how this would play out. I have to say, it couldn't have gone better. They both slept well together and I think they liked being close. They even took naps together with no problem, it was kind of sweet to see the closeness they really have for each other.
The next day, was a little raining off and on, but there was no lack for humidity. Being Memorial Day, a lot of places were closed, so we missed the trolley ride, and some of the shops downtown. We did get to catch a baseball game though. This was a lot of fun, and we even made it on the teleprompter. It started to rain some, so we headed back to the house. We enjoyed the rest of the day with Mike, Sunny, Jackson, & Goldie. The kids were having so much fun playing together, and of course playing with Jackson's toys. We cooked out, and then settled the kids down with a movie. After some time it was back to the hotel for bed. The kids were totally off their schedule, but they still did very well. This was the end to our first day in North Little Rock. More to come......

Water Fun!

We took the kids to one of the spray parks this weekend. They had so much fun, even though the water was a little cool. They didn't seem to mind, they ran through the water and sprayed each other, it was so much fun to watch them. They both got new goggles for their swimming lesson, they wanted to try them out at the spray park too. They were so cute, we had to take a picture. Lots of summer fun to come!

Swimming Lessons!

Izze learning to kick her legs!

Izze under the water!!

Izze learning to float on her back!

This week the kids had their first set of swimming lessons. I wasn't sure about how they would do, but I was pleasantly surprised. Ian's class is first, so Izze sits and watches us, because I have to get in with Ian. She sits and waits like a big girl. The first day, Ian would not let go of me. He didn't really want to look at anyone or anything, but we still had fun. Izze's class was next and she did great, she loved it. The second time, Ian come full circle. He was jumping from the side to me, floating, swimming for balls, he had so much fun this time. Isabelle is learning to go under the water, floating on her back, and kick her legs and arms to swim. I don't have any pictures of Ian, because I am in the water with him. We still have a few more weeks of the swimming fun, can't wait to see how much they learn and grow! Brian came to Izze's class one day and we both talked about how much we love to watch them do new things and see the excitement they have about things. It is truly one of the greatest things to do, for us!

Family Day!!!

Thursday, we had a fun family day with the kids. We took them to Bricktown, (one of our favorite places, just one, haha). The kids always like seeing the water fountain, and playing in the grass area there. They get to walk everywhere, and see the boats. We showed them where we go for the baseball games, and they thought that was cool. The team was practicing, it looked like, the kids enjoyed watching them. We grabbed a bite at Earl's (a favorite of mine), and the kids like their hamburgers. Ian wants to sit in big chairs now, so he did, and he ate his hamburger like such a big boy, I was proud, and sad at the same time, (at how fast he is growing). He is talking more and more in sentences, and he surprises me too sometimes. This morning he said he was a fireman. LOL So cute! After the bricktown experiences we took the kids to Cuppies and Joe. It is a new little cupcake place and coffee shop. It reminds me of the tea houses in Claremore. It looks like an old house, that had been re-done. Each room is different and you can sit anywhere. Lets see, Izze and Ian both got vanilla and chocolate, I got the sass a frass (red velvet with cream cheese frosting), Brian got an Ebony and Ivory (chocolate and white icing). They had a lot of different ones with funny names, all looked very good. It was a fun day for all.

Picnic at the Park!

Yesterday, our mom's group got together at a fun park. The kids had a lot of fun playing and running around. We had a little picnic while there as well, the kids think this is a lot of fun too. The kids and I are so thankful for our mom's group, we always have so much fun with everyone! What a beautiful day it turned out to be spending with friends!

(Can't wait to post some fun pictures of Izze getting her medal in gymnastics)

Mothers Day 09'!!

I had a great Mothers Day with the love of my life, and my two sweet kids. We celebrated on Saturday, since Sundays lend themselves to be busy. Brian and the kids made me my favorite breakfast, it was really good. Brian is a pretty good cook. The kids were so excited to give me their card, that they "personalized." They both had big smiles on their faces, and they were really proud of themselves for helping daddy make breakfast. We had a great day relaxing, and just being together. On Sunday, Brian give me "his" Mothers Day card, it made me tear up. I treasure these moments that they make me feel extra special. I love these people and are so glad they are in my life, very thankful for them!!!

(I took pictures of the kids on Mothers Day, I'll try and post later, no I didn't get me in the pictures)

Our "big" 2 year old!!

Our little boy turned two in April, and we had such a great time celebrating with family. Most of the family were able to come for his birthday. We did miss our two Papas though. My brother and his family got to come. Isabelle loves to play with his girls. She kept them busy the whole time. Ian had a lot of fun doing bubbles and keeping up with the "big" kids. Ian has always gone right to my brother when he ask to hold him, and this time was no different. Something about him that makes Ian feel comfortable. Nanny Carol was able to come and celebrate. Thanks for all the help. Nanny Faith was able to come, and my sister Hollie and her little girl Joslyn. It has been a while since I have seen my sister, so it was nice to see her. Ian got so many cool toys, Handy Manny was a hit, along with Diego and his backpack, Thomas the train play computer, trucks, and the list goes on. We got him a new guitar, because his last one broke, and that is one of his favorite things to do, play the guitar, as you can see in one of the pictures. It plays some cool songs and he gets his leg going and his body moving, he is so cute to watch. We had a dinosuar cake and theme. He has been into dinosuars for a while now. He was cute trying to blow the candle out. He really enjoyed the cake, and I was going to skip on giving him ice cream until he heard me say that, and he spcifically ask for it. It was a great day to celebrate a great little boy. I could go on and on about how precious he is and how every feature I love about him. His big hazel/green eyes (like his daddy), his golden hair that flips up, his smile, his great little personality, his lovableness. So, So glad the Lord blessed us with this little guy, wouldn't want it any other way. Thanks to everyone who was able to be here, it's nice to share things with family.
Love you little boy, happy 2nd birthday!!!

Update!

Quick update on Isabelle's school situation. We got her into a school that is designed for her age, and we are very excited about it. She seems like she is so ready, so this will be an interesting fall. It will be harder on me I'm sure, I may need some extra support from my friends during that time. haha

Today was another raining day, but we got to be apart of a friends baby shower. She is having a second little girl, and we are very excited for her. She got lots of fun stuff, plus some practical stuff too. It was fun to celebrate with her today! Can't wait to meet the new little one!!
