More Early Easter Fun!

This last weekend we also had a visit from Nanny Faith. The kids were already down for their naps, so they didn't get to see her, but she left them some soft, cuddly, Easter bunny rabbits. Blue one for Ian, and a pink one for Isabelle. They both sing, "Jesus Loves Me". Ian has been sleeping with his every night and even likes to take it with him when we go somewhere. At night, Ian will play the song over and over and sing with it. He is adorable. Isabelle is sleeping with hers too, but still has "lambie". They are so cute with their new bunnies. Thank you Nanny Faith for bringing us more Easter fun, hope to see you soon!

Easter Fun with Paw Paw Jack!!!!

This weekend we got to spend some fun time with Paw Paw Jack! He brought some Easter baskets over for the kids. Izze was so excited when she got hers out of the car, she was talking in a real high pitched voice. Ian was ready to get the soccer ball out of his. They ripped into them as fast as they could, and Izze just loved the doll inside, and then they both ended up going outside and kicking the soccer ball with daddy. Paw paw got to stay awhile and have some dinner with us too, it was a nice, fun time. Thank you paw paw for the great Easter baskets, we are still enjoying the goodies from them.

Mom's Group Annual Easter Egg Hunt!!

Today, our mom's group came to our house for our annual Easter egg hunt! The kids had a blast, and it was nice to visit with all the ladies. The kids played outside some, which was surprising, since it was so cold and windy, they later came into play. We had a spread of food, as you can tell. The desserts where amazing!! Thanks ladies for the yummy desserts. After lunch we headed out again to find all the eggs. Isabelle did well this year with lots of them. Ian would get some in his basket and dump them out, until I told him to keep them "in" his basket. After finding all they could find, they sat down and started to search for the goodies inside. They have had way to much candy this morning to last a week probably. I guess you make some exceptions for these special occasions!! It was fun to watch both of them so exciting to get their Easter eggs. I love to watch them do things like this, it is so much fun to be a mommy! I wouldn't want to miss it. It was a fun day with our friends. Thanks everyone for coming out today!

Easter Outfits

Just for fun, I thought I would post pictures of the kids Easter outfits that Nanny Carol got them. We had a fun time picking them out. Of course they will look better with the kids in them in a week or so. Also, the bright pink bow, that we had to find a dress for, and the sparkle purse, can't leave those out. Izze ask almost daily if she can wear her Easter dresses. A good weekend to all!!

Early Easter!!

This Monday, we had a fun visit from Nanny Carol!! The kids were so excited to see her, they had been wanting to see her for a while now. Nanny had some cute Easter baskets for the kids, filled to the brim with goodies, and fun stuff to play with. The kids immediately began to go through them and search out all their goodies. Izze quickly started making deals with Ian about trading their stuff, or if she wanted the color that he got. Your kids don't do this right? LOL. She is learning fast how to negotiate. When we were able to break them free from their fun baskets, Nanny wanted to get some Easter clothes. Izze was excited about getting a new dress. She is becoming very specific these days in what she likes, and doesn't like, so it is very interesting to go shopping for her now days. We did find outfits for both of them, actually Izze got two dresses because she fell in love with a bright pink bow, so we had to have a dress that matched the bow. Nanny also got her a little pink, sparkly purse that she just loved, and she has been inseparable with them since. She even wants to sleep in the bow. What can I say, she is a girly girl!!! After getting some stylish Easter clothes, and accessories, we headed to the food court for some lunch. Izze was insistent on pizza, so pizza it was. Then something we do almost, not always, but almost always, when we go to the mall, get sparkle cookies. A great end to a great day! Nanny had to travel back to Amarillo that day, but we say a big Thank You to her and papa Lin for all the Easter goodies and outfits. You always make things so much fun! We love you!!

Friendship, lunch & Oklahoma WIND!

Today, it is a very windy day, but has been a good one. The kids and I met with a friend for some lunch. One of Izze's favorite places, because it has a play zone, which I could hardly get her out of. The place was giving balloons out to the kids, so each got one, but Ian's soon burst with the wind and the ground rubbing outside. He said "oh man". I told him I was sorry, and then he said he was sorry to me. So cute. We proceeded to the car and I couldn't find my keys. The wind was blowing my hair everywhere, and I couldn't see very well, finally after looking, and looking, there they were, in the place I had already looked. LOL. I do this often now days, usually with my keys and cell phone. All this to say, so glad the Lord has placed certain people in our lives to call friends. Thank you friend!

Down Time!

Brian had some time off this weekend, so we got to hang out, and relax. The weather was not much for getting out in, so we did stay in some, which was a nice thing, because we just got to rest. Sometimes the body needs this. We did get away on a date on Saturday, which was nice because we had been in all day. We headed to Norman for some Cheddar's. All I can say is "YUMMY"!! I haven't ate at a Cheddar's in so long, probably since we lived in Tulsa. The spinach dip is great, along with the chicken fingers, great ice tea too. We really wanted to get their famous "cookie monster" dessert, but couldn't seem to find the room, maybe next time. We headed to a couple of my favorite stores after that, one of which we don't have on the North side. Did a little shopping then headed home. It was a great night out with my hubby. We talked, and laughed, and relaxed.

Sunday we had the day off, so we headed out for a family breakfast. Our choice always seems to be Jimmy's Egg. I usually splurge on breakfast, because I don't fix that kind of stuff at home, but I do remember growing up on it. Some great cooks in my family, and I miss that kind of food sometimes. Although, if I ate it all the time, I would be in trouble. Let's see, hash browns, white gravy, biscuit, egg, bacon, coffee (I did share some with the kids). Brain was good, with some egg whites and oatmeal. We headed out afterward to a favorite place of mine as well. Great day off. Down time together is priceless!!!

Belly Laugh!

Have you ever had one of those moments that you and your spouse look at each other, and just bust out laughing, until you almost cry. Well, we have had some moments like that lately with our Isabelle. As she approaches the 4 year mark, she seems like she is growing more into a little girl, conversing more, and just thinks for herself. I thought I would share a couple of these moments today, on this cold, snowy morning. Maybe it will give you a good laugh.

The kids new thing they like to eat is popcorn. Really any occasion will do. Watching a movie, or snack, they don't seem to mind. The other day, Brian, myself, and Ian had made some popcorn and settled down on the couch (Isabelle was still taking a nap). All of a sudden we hear, "ok guys, I smell it, what's going on". Brian and I looked at each other and laughed so hard. She was so serious too. She wanted her own popcorn. So we all settled in with some on the couch.

The other thing the kids have been "into" lately is dinosaurs. We had just gone to the zoo the previous day, and they had a new dinosaur exhibit. We were in the car, and Isabelle started to talk about dinosaurs. Asking if they would eat her, we said no, they weren't real and proceeded to explain about them. She responded, "I think they will eat me, then Jesus will have to make me again." Again, Brian and I looked at each other and began to laugh out loud. She proceeded to talk about how Jesus would make her fingers, legs, and so on all over again. It was amusing to us she thought Jesus could just make her all over again. The faith of a child.....
We laughed, and were amazed at how her little mind is thinking.

Hope this gave you a laugh today! Keep warm and safe, if you got weather like we did.

Kite Flying Fun!

This past weekend, we decided to do a little kite flying, or at least give it a go. I had gotten the kids some kites for their Easter baskets, but we decided to break them out a little early, because the weather was so nice, and the wind was just right for flying a kite. The first one we tried, we broke, or the wind broke. The second one proved to be a winner though. The kids had so much fun!! They each got to hold the string by themselves, and their faces said it all, they thought they were so big and doing something great by themselves. Brian actually got the kite pretty high up in the sky, and he was having just as much fun as the kids were. We will probably be buying one for him next time too. Ian was holding it one time, and the wind took it right from his little hands, all three of them started running down the street and yelling, one of those moments I wish I would have had my video camera. It was really funny. They caught up with it at the end of the street finally. It is so much fun to watch the kids have new adventures and experiences. I love watching them!! Hope to do more kite flying when it warms up some.

1st Zoo trip of the Season!!

This weekend we made our first trip of the season to the zoo, with some friends, and a few hundred others. The zoo was a lot busier than I had expected for this time of year. This day was suppose to be nice and warm, so we thought we would give it a go. We got there and the wind was blowing and it was a little colder than expected, but by the time we ate lunch it was turning out to be a nice day (plus the wind had gone down.) The kids both seemed to really enjoy it this time. They both seemed interested in the animals and what was going on. The new thing was the dinosaur exhibit. The kids were really excited about this one, until we actually got there. Ian was scared, but quickly became ok with it. The dinosaurs moved a little, and made noises, I think that is what scared him. Izze was a little scared as well, but again, quickly warmed up to them, and wanted to touch them. The kids also got their first taste of cotton candy. Izze didn't seem to like it, but Ian was asking for more. Brian and I enjoyed some as well, it had been years since I have had cotton candy. All in all it was a fun day, we can't wait to go back.
