Beautiful Day!

What a gorgeous day today! The kids and I walked down to our little park here in our addition. Izze loves to go to the park and play. She likes to run down and see the ducks too. We are busy with potty training some. Izze has done good, but it is a long process. The end result is what counts, I keep reminding myself. Well, everyone enjoy this beautiful day. I think I hear our little guy getting up from his nap.

Dynamo Gym!

Yesterday we had a fun mom's group. Izze got to have her first experience at Dynamo Gymnastics and loved it. They have a separate play area for kids to play, with three slides, a ball pit, and some other stuff back behind the slides. Izze was all over the place. She went down the slides and covered herself with balls in the ball pit, and even brother made his way into the ball pit when all the big kids were done. Izze had her eye on the girls in the gymnastics class next to us though. I think she will be interested in doing gymnastics soon. One day I came home from the store, and Brian said they had a gymnastics competition on earlier and she was glued to it, and afterwards she was trying to do flips, and putting her hands up like they do when they finish a jump. She is so funny. She wanted me to watch her do flips over and over again. I remember taking gymnastics lessons when I was young, and I would love for her too. She really wanted to go over there with the girls. I told her maybe someday we would. What a great day, and lots of fun with friends too.

What A Weekend!

This weekend was great. The weather was pretty nice all weekend except Sunday was a little cooler. Saturday we made a trip downtown to the Arts Festival. We had so much fun. We maneuvered through the crowds of people with our double stroller to make our way to the food, one of the best things about going. We started out with pickle O's, moved on to chicken sandwiches, then to strawberry dessert, and ended with ice cream on a stick. I know, what a lot of food, but that's what you go for right. Kind of like the fair, you only go for the food! We sat in the grass to have lunch with the rest of a few hundred people, while listening to a guy play his guitar. It was relaxing, and Izze enjoyed running up and down the hill. We made our way through the crowd to look at some art. There were some nice things. One cool thing was the the huge hand blown glass chandelier. We caught a show of two guys doing yo yo tricks, it was interesting. Izze had to get a balloon before we headed home. We would definitely go again. We all enjoyed it. The area was so nice, we would even go just to have lunch outside on the grass again. What a great weekend we had together. Hope the summer is full of much more of these fun days.

Practice Again!

Thursday is here! Thursdays are usually our long day without Brian around until later in the evening, but we will see him in a little bit. I have started going to worship practice again. I am really excited about that. I am trying the kids out to see how they will do with the whole thing. So far, so good. Really just Ian. Isabelle would be fine. I still haven't tried out the Sunday service yet, don't know how Ian will do with the no nap thing until later in the day. I hope this gets Ian better acclimated with the nursery. Last Thursday he did good, and then Sunday he did better too. Have a great Thursday everyone. It is nice and humid today!

One Year Check-Up!

Ian in his bed. Izze had put all his toys in there with him.

Ian after eating his lunch. What a face. Who can resist that!

Ian crawling after his sister. Such a big little man.

Today, Ian had his one year check-up! He is growing fine and almost ready for his big boy seat in the car. He is 19lbs. (which puts him in the 5% for his weight), and 30 1/4 inches, (which puts him in the 50 to 75% for his height). He received three shots today, which always makes me a little nervous, and I know is controversial. I just pray over him when he has them. He usually cries for the first few seconds and then when I pick him up, he seems to settle. Izze seems nervous too for brother when he has to get shots. She doesn't say much and seems a little uneasy. The Doctor usually gives her a sticker for coming too. This week I have also stopped breastfeeding Ian. This is bitter sweet. So glad to have the freedom, but knowing he is probably our last baby is kind of sad. I guess there will be many more milestones that are emotional as well. Ian is such a sweet boy. He says mama, dada, peek-a-boo, bye bye. He waves bye bye to daddy when he leaves in the mornings. He claps his hands, and tries to hide his eyes with his hands when you play peek-a-boo with him. He smiles all the time and knows what a lot of things are you are talking to him about. He is amazing, just like his sister. We are blessed with two wonderful children.

Monday's Birthday Boy!

Monday we had another fun birthday to attend. One of Izze's little friends had his 3rd birthday! How time flies! Izze has so much fun playing with her "good buddies", and she even got to meet some new little friends. She had fun playing with all the cool toys, specially ones that she doesn't have. We had yummy lunch that Mandi prepared for us. Izze loved the cheetos, and the cupcakes the best. Of course. At the end the kids all got goody bags to take home, and Izze is still carrying hers around. She puts it on her arm and carries it all day long. She takes if we go somewhere too. Thanks Mandi for inviting us to a great birthday party. Happy 3rd birthday Camden!

Ian's hat was falling at the end of the festivities. He didn't seem to mind, as long as he had his milk handy.

Our little Ian turned one on Saturday. We had a house full of family on Sunday to help celebrate Ian turning one. Ian got to make the rounds with everyone and get more acquainted. He did so good, even with not much sleep that day. Ian got his first taste of birthday cake. He wasn't sure at first, but once he got the first bite, he decided he would dig in. He was cute. He made out with lots of clothes, toys, and lots of hugs and kisses from the family. Thanks to everyone who made the trip to help us celebrate our little boys one year birthday! What a great day!

Weekend Rush!

It seems like so much has been happening around here, I feel behind on my blogging, so I am going to try and get caught up. We had a busy, but great weekend. Friday night was a blast with the staff. We got together for a cook-out, and just to hang out. It was fun to catch up with everyone. Isabelle loved playing with all the kids. She got to play outside on the swings, blow bubbles, do chalk on the sidewalk, and run around. Ian enjoyed his second taste of hot dogs, and longed to be outside with the kids. I did take him out for awhile, and he sat in the grass and watched everything around him. The weather was great, couldn't have been better. We really enjoy hanging out with all the staff families.
Saturday was Ian's One year birthday! We didn't celebrate until Sunday, but Saturday was busy getting things ready for the Sunday afternoon party. Can't believe my baby boy is one. It's exciting and sad all in one. He is growing so fast.

"My Man"

My husband, my best friend! I just have to tell you what he did for me yesterday! It made my day. He brought me home one of my favorite chocolate bars, and one of my favorite fashion magazines. I was so surprised. He couldn't have gotten anything better. I was so thrilled to get just those simple, wonderful items. We haven't had much sweet stuff in the house, because we are watching what we eat. So I loved it. They kept screaming at me all night, through dinner and clean-up, "Me Time". I knew when the kids went down for bed exactly what I was going to do, sit on the sofa, have some chocolate and read through my magazine. That's what I did too! It was so great! One of the reason I love Brian so much, he knows exactly what I like. He is great at picking things out for me. It may seem superficial or cliche for some of you, but for me it was exactly the right thing. Thanks babe for making my day!

Cool Weekend

This weekend proved to be a cool one, so not much outside activity happened. The sun did shine though, which is nice because we have had a lot of rain lately. The kids have had a cold since about Wednesday, so we stayed in some too this weekend. Izze seems to be almost over hers, but Ian is still struggling. Plus he is cutting his eye teeth, and they have really been giving him problems. I remember the eye teeth were hard on Izze too, and they have proved to be the same for Ian. One night I was up with him until 3Am. He would go to sleep in my arms, but as soon as I put him down he was crying again. I think he really just wanted comfort, because his teeth hurt. It seems like all the medicines they say work for teething don't really work that great. I guess it's just one of those things. The kids and I missed out on Sunday services this weekend because I didn't think it was a good idea to take them. Brian said I missed a great sermon. This series that Pastor Herbert has been doing, (The Perfect Kid), is really good. It's not just about kids, but how we as parents can be better to make our kids better. I am excited to listen to it on line. If you guys want to check it out too just go to peopleschurch.tv, and listen to the messages.
I was able to get some stuff ready for Ian's one year birthday party this weekend, can't believe it is already here. This morning Ian didn't breastfeed, so we are just doing nights now. I'll see how tonight goes. I feel bad with him teething and then taking that away too. Hope the kids are feeling better this weekend for all the fun activities. The sun is shinning, the high is 65 today, so looks to be a great day! Hope it is for everyone of you too.

Daddy's Girl!

This was a cute picture. Daddy got a fudgesicle, so Izze had to have one. Daddy got a new magazine, and so Izze had to get a magazine. They were just sitting together. Enjoying their fudgesicles and magazines.

This picture she got up in daddy's lap to eat her pizza. She didn't want to sit in her chair, but to be with daddy. She laid there in daddy's arms, while he checked his email. There was not much talking, but a way about it, she was comfortable in daddy's arms.

I have just got to tell you that Isabelle is becoming more of a daddy's girl lately. She ask almost everyday, where daddy is, and when I say he's at work, he will be home at dinner time, she says, "I need daddy". When we are at church she wants to stay with him and gets sad when we have to leave without him. Sometimes she even begins to tear up. She loves to play with daddy. She knows when he gets home, it is play time. Daddy gives her special treats too. The newest one is fudgesicles. You would have to hear her say it though. Brian has got her to put a "twang" on it. They have special stories at bedtime, and I can hear her just laugh. She plays the piano and now the guitar with daddy. I think she really likes that time together. She wants to have what daddy haves, and go where daddy is going. I love to see them together, daddy and daughter. It's special to both of them and to me. What a daddy's girl!

Fun Things To Do!

We had a great weekend. Brian and I started it off right, with a date night. We got away for a few hours, to the Cheesecake Factory! One of our favorites. I guess we have a lot of favorites though. The chocolate fudge cake is amazing, but huge. I couldn't finish my half, and I am a fan of chocolate (those of you who know me, know this). We even had time to drop by the mall for a little while. Those hours are priceless to me with my man. Thanks babe for a good night out!

It was a pretty nice weekend weather wise, except a little windy, but in Oklahoma that is a given, I think. We headed to the park. The big park as Izze would say. She loves to go and slide and swing. She is so much more confident now with climbing and moving on the big equipment. We did some yard work too. Or maybe I should say Brian did the work while the kids and I looked on. Ian was strapped in his wagon taking everything in and Izze was right with daddy helping pick up the tree branches as he cut them off. We did some trimming and cleaning up to get ready for summer. We had a nice weekend together, and got a lot done. It was a good feeling.

Today, the kids and I didn't make it to our mom's group. Ian slept late and we would have been really late getting there. I decided I would take Izze to the mall, she likes to play in the play area. I also had some stuff to do there, so I thought it would be a good trip to get in. By the time we got there I realized I had forgotten to bring the stuff that I needed to bring with me (one of the reasons we went to the mall). Izze played in the play area, with all of two kids today, which
is unusual for the mall play area, while I feed Ian his lunch in the stroller. She decided she had enough play and was ready to go. I think there weren't enough kids for her to play with, so she was kind of bored. We stopped to get jelly beans out of the gum ball machine, then on to some stores. I keep looking at these shoes for her and still haven't bought them. I am so indecisive sometimes. It's one of those things you go back and forth about, if you should buy them or not (over and over). I suspect by the time I do make up my mind they won't have her size left. I better make a decision. The two other things I wanted to check on at the mall aren't happening yet, so you could say our trip to the mall was somewhat unproductive. Except, Izze got to play! Anyway, heres to a great rest of the Monday!

Great Lunch!

Today, the kids and I got to meet some of our friends for a great lunch. One of Izze's places she likes to go, Chil-fil-a, mostly because they have the outdoor play gym. She likes their popcorn chicken as she would call them. One of our friends even brought a little treat for us to have after lunch. Thank you, they were very good! After a yummy lunch we headed outside to play. We cut the playing short though, because it was really cold out there. The wind was blowing and I had Ian wrapped in a blanket trying to keep him warm. Izze didn't seem to mind the cold at all, she could have kept on playing. Even on the way out she was holding on to the bars looking back at the play gym stuff. I told her to say bye, bye to them and we would see them again when it warmed up. We had a great time with friends today. Izze likes the socializing as much as I do.
